Your own capsule
Make a little corner of gemspace
A capsule is a small website on Gemini. A journal, field notes, a collection of useful links, a page about a wonderfully specific interest. A few plain text files can be enough.
Start by wandering
Try a capsule in this site's web reader. Its address and author stay visible, and every Gemini link leads onward. For the direct experience, a Gemini app connects to capsules without this relay and keeps your bookmarks and personal certificates with you.

Choose a home
These are independent projects, operated by their own communities. Check their current signup rules and limits. Braigetori does not create accounts or host personal capsules at this time.
Smol Pub / a hosted journal you can edit from the web
Smol Pub publishes to Gemini, Gopher and HTTPS, and lets you export your posts. A straightforward choice if you want to start writing.
Flounder / a web interface for your own Gemini capsule
Flounder offers free capsule hosting with a browser-based editing interface. A good starting point for a small collection of pages.
Agate / serve your own files on your own server
For more control, run a Gemini server such as Agate. You manage your domain, server, TCP port 1965, backups and TLS certificate. Keep that certificate stable so returning readers recognise your capsule.
Your first three pages
Download a tiny starter: a home page, an about page and a first journal entry. Edit them in any plain text editor, then upload the files to a host that supports file-based capsules. With a journal service, copy the text into its editor instead.

Gemtext uses headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, links and preformatted text. Your reader chooses the fonts and colours. You do not need JavaScript, a design framework or a polished personal brand.

Help the small net grow
* Write one useful, curious or personal page. Small is welcome.
* Link to a few capsules you enjoyed. Follow those links to find more people.
* Keep a copy of your files, and export your writing regularly if you use a host.
* Share your gemini:// address with a friend or a community you already participate in. Search engines can discover it through ordinary links; inclusion is not guaranteed or instant.
* Come back to read, update a thought, or add a new link. There is no posting schedule to keep.
